In a few days, I am going on vacation to Greece. This will be the 5th country I have visited in the last 13 months. And in 3 months I’ll be traveling to Thailand, making it 6 countries in less than 18 months. I am in awe and amazement that God has allowed me to do so much, in such a short time. There was a time in my life where world travel, as well as many other things, were just a distant dream; something that didn’t even seem realistic to me. Now I am traveling all over the world and loving it!
Do you have dreams that seem too unrealistic to ever come to pass? Do you want to do something but have no idea how to make it happen? You know what you want. You see the end result. But you have no clue how to get from here to your desired end. That was how I felt too. Well let me tell you how I did it……God. I know, I know. You’re probably saying, “here she goes again with God. She’s always talking about God.” And you would be right. I do talk about God a lot and definitely give Him a lot of credit for my life. Why? Because it’s true. Without God, I would not be where I am today. I would not be traveling the world or reaching any of the other goals on my vision boards. I would still be lost in some wilderness, trying to figure out who, what, where, why and when. Who I am. What my purpose in life is. Where I’m supposed to be going in life. Why negative things happened to me throughout the course of my life. And finally, when…….when will I be happy. Well, I’m pleased to say that I no longer have any of those questions in my mind because God has shown me. Since I made the decision to give my life to God in 2009, I have never been the same. Is everything perfect? Of course not. But I have genuine joy in my life. I’m a better person. And, I think most importantly, I have faith which sustains me.
So I share all that to say, if you have goals or dreams that seem impossible……they’re not. Just because you don’t see how it can happen, that doesn’t mean it can’t. All that means is that you need to pray about it and give it to God. Let Him handle it. Of course you have to take some action to make things happen too, because obviously what you want isn’t going to just come knock on your door, looking for you. But you don’t have to worry or stress wondering if it will ever come to pass. If God puts something in your heart, He will make it happen. And even if it seems like it’s not going to happen because it’s taking so long……remember, things will happen in God’s perfect timing. Not yours.
Here’s a song* I find inspiring when I feel like I’m fighting a losing battle. Maybe you will too…
